Movie Day Charity - Looney Tunes - Back in Action(2003)
18th November 2003, a day which made history for the 1st Kuala Lumpur Boys’ Brigade. For the first time ever in the company’s history we have done fundraising through a movie premiere with the movie entitled Looney Tunes - Back in Action. This movie promises some usual Looney Tune comedy as well as a bunch of well known actors such as Brenden Fraser (remember George of the Jungle and The Mummy?). So, did the movie live up with its expectation? And did 1st Kuala Lumpur successfully raise enough funds by abiding BB Month this year?
Well, the time was 8:00 p.m. and most of the boys and officers were already in KLCC. Some of them actually went all the way down to KFC for dinner in full uniform and got some really interesting comments such as “Wah, banyak ‘badge’ gila!” from the onlooking crowd. Time is getting close. As the movie draws near, the chairman, Mr. Lai Ee Chiang thanked everyone for helping to sell the tickets. After a quick prayer, everyone got to work; from welcoming, to selling merchandises and ushering. You can see the anticipation in everyone’s face. Everyone wants to know the turnout for this premiere.  
The result was outstanding. People started marching into the cinemas as early as 8:45 p.m. Most of the people attending were family members and friends of boys, church members and even a group of kids from an orphanage. Everyone that entered was handed a souvenir book and a Cartoon Network calendar. By 9:15 p.m., each cinema that was booked by the company were fully seated. Finally, all the results of a long planned programme have paid off tremendously well. Sadly, the organizers were the ones who had to suffer (They have to take the front seats and have a strain neck by the end of the show). Brigadier | Home |
