Brigadier : The Pen is Mightier than the Sword

Reading back on the things that I’ve written, it helps me see how my life changed before my own eyes. It reminded me of how dumb I was for thinking that one day or how fortunate I was to be able to feel like this on another day. They say a picture speaks a thousand words… but I’d rather write the thousand words myself.

Today, writing has become more of a chore than a hobby. Left, right and centre, people ask me to “write a little something for that” and I oblige. I’ve never really wanted to admit that writing is a talent. If it is then I could well be untalented.

Writing is far simpler than that… it is just a collection of words, juxtaposed in such a way that it means something to the writer and the reader. When the writer is the only reader, it is even more personal and it is a joy everyone should have in a book.

So friends, give writing a chance. I have always believed that (almost) everyone could write but not everyone who could, would. We need people to pen down memories, events, feelings and emotions, so that we, and many more in the future, can have a glimpse of remembrance of how life used to be.
