Articles: Enrolment Sunday 2003

1st KL Band Performance!
The event was then followed by the promotion of officers. This year, we had 5 new officers and surprisingly, a new Lieutenant (Oops!). The new officers were W/O Henry Yap, W/O Lim Choon Seng, W/O Ng Yoong Chze, W/O Jeffrey Yip and W/O Lee Yew Heng. The new Lieutenant was Lt. Timothy Chan. Besides the newly promoted officers, the new Lieutenant was obviously looking quite surprised by his promotion.

Then comes the big part where all of us are required to enroll ourselves in front of the church. Officers, NCOs and boys are supposed to accept their role and responsibility in front of God. After all the "Yes I do" and "Yes I will", we were treated to a sermon by the Church Pastor.

After the sermon, it was time for us to march out of the church. The boys followed the Color-Party together with the commander back to the Concourse. My job finally finished! It was then followed by a band presentation by the senior boys. Our performance was so impressive that we had to play 2 extra songs as church members shouted "We want more!" after the number of actual songs we were supposed to play. We were then greeted by a loud and supportive applaud after our performance.

The event was followed by a photo session of the whole company. We had to make poor Mr. Yap Kin Wah take about 6 shots from the same angle just to get everyone satisfied (This was the first time I witnessed boys asking for more photo shots during such a hot day). Everyone then felled in after the photo session to witness the presentation of Gold-Award badges for some of our golden boys. We were praised for our wonderful performance and involvement in the event and were later dismissed to have fellowship with each other during brunch in the church canteen (Brunch is actually a combination of Breakfast and Lunch for those who do not know). That signaled the end of our Enrolment Sunday. I had a great time (maybe because the Color-Party didn't screw up) and felt my enthusiasm towards the Brigade renewed. I hope this event would spur my involvement in the company throughout this year.
