Articles: Enrolment Sunday 2003

Boys preparing to march in.
It was an early cold and chilly Sunday morning. My alarm clock started ringing and I immediately got out of my bed. The date was the 4th of May 2003 and I can't afford to be late for my upcoming Enrolment Sunday. After a quick wash-up, I started polishing my uniform parts as quickly but as nicely as I could. Luckily, I was staying nearby at Menara Wesley so I had plenty of time to spare for my preparation.

The event soon began. I reached the concourse just in time to see the rest of the boys falling in. Plenty of sleepy and lazy faces can be seen among the boys. Maybe because this is the first time we have had an Enrolment Sunday during the 8.15 a.m service. After a quick round of inspection and marking of attendance, the commander got us ready to march into the church. I was the Colors-Sergeant for that day. Frankly speaking, that was my first time being involved in the Color-Party and I was a little nervous. My fears were added as I was informed that this whole event was going to be recorded by BBM to be published to every BB Company in Malaysia. After the command was being given, the Color Party led the whole company towards the church.

After all the boys entered, it was the Color-Party's turn to shine. As the anthem "The Anchor Song" was played, we marched slowly with pride into the church Sanctuary donning our company flag. The event went on with greetings from our captain to the church members. We were then treated with a really entertaining yet humorous sermonate with a title of "Our Life" from S/Sgt Henry Yap and team (We really liked the part where he assured the children that they were seeing a balloon by going "OH YES! THIS IS A BALLOON!").

Anyway, L/Cpl Justin Wong continued the event by giving his personal testimony about the Boys' Brigade. He recalled how BB has managed to change him into a more better and discipline boy as he is now. He also urged those who were not in the BB to join us.
