Brigadier : I Think I Know You...

Hey, this name is so familiar! So many times I have come across names of people everywhere only to find out they have one thing in common: they are my comrades in the Boys’ Brigade.

As I recall the numerous activities I have participated in the Brigade, it is great to also realize the many people I have met, worked and played together, argued and competed against, all striving to achieve the same goal. They all come from different companies, different states and even different countries.

I Think I Know You...

As I write this article, I reflect on the Officers who have guided me throughout my 12 years as a Boy. I remember the Boys whom I have worked together with as I rose through the ranks. Becoming an Officer myself for the past year, I remember vividly the Boys under my leadership while trying my level best to know each Boy by name.

At the same time as you read this article, you might know me. You might have taught me some years back and remember how my ignorance and pride have been so much trouble for you. You might have been to a camp with me and we worked together. Or I might have reprimanded you noticing your uniform was not proper. Some of you might just know my name while some have never heard of.

You know what? Whoever you are, wherever you come from and whether we know each other, we all salute the same flag: the Boys’ Brigade flag in the castle of our hearts. We plant the same object deep in our hearts: “The advancement of Christ’s kingdom…” Above all, we are connected to each other.

I look forward to all my “connections” everywhere I go. I’m overjoyed when I meet all kinds of people and they tell me they’re from the Boys’ Brigade like me. I see to it that I don’t lose their contacts because we’re connected in a unique way. Do you?
